A new chapter for our club

2026 marked a milestone for Marston St Lawrence as we played our first ladies’ cricket match against Kineton on 4 September. After 127 years of club history, our ladies’ team’s journey is officially underway!

Girls have been part of our junior cricket for more than 20 years, with some also making appearances for the second team. Now, we’re building on that foundation with a team of our own.

Fun, friendly and open to beginners

What began as a two-week introduction to gauge interest quickly gathered momentum. Across our first seven training sessions, 17 ladies took part.

We play softball cricket using fibreglass bats, with a flexible format combining elements of T20, The Hundred and pairs cricket. Everyone gets involved, with plenty of opportunities to learn, develop skills and enjoy the game together.

Whether you’ve played before or are picking up a bat for the first time, we’d love to hear from you.

Looking ahead

We’re aiming to play six to eight fixtures in 2027, with the ambition of moving into competitive cricket in 2028.

There’s plenty to look forward to, but enjoying ourselves will always be at the heart of the team.
